The Simply Bar Review
The simply bar review. Vegan protein bars in general are expensive theres no way of getting around that. Its not a three bit bar by any means. Maple Pecan Simply Bar.
The Simply Bar was unlike any protein bar I have ever had. Overall I was generally pleased with both. Chocolate Peanut Simply Bar.
I first meet The Simply Bar at the Blend Retreat. It gave me the fuel to push through the hike. Even Luvy approved of these bars which is huge.
It is great for athletes and people who are health-conscious and although I personally am trying to move away from obsessing over calorie and macromolecule contents in food they are also low in calories. Much better than a chocolate bar when a sweet craving hits. The standout flavour for me was the maple pecan a surprisingly rich tasting almost buttery bar that was akin to a sophisticated rice krispie square.
And unlike a lot of the other kinds out there The Simply Bars are not coated in chocolate. It was that last category on which I focused and felt I had to do better. They were given out to us on our hike as fuel and wow I was really happy we had it on hand that hike was no joke.
Advertisement The bars are sweetened with organic brown rice syrup rate low on the glycemic index and contain no refined sugars. I loved how much I could taste the cinnamon and it had chewy pieces of dried apple in it which I loved. The Simply Bar is comprised mostly of soy protein nuggets and has a soft chewy texture much like a granola bar.
The Simply Bars are soy based which makes them 100 vegan. This bar is great because it is gluten-free dairy free vegan low GI high protein and high fibre.
The taste is ok not my favourite thing in the world but good for satisfying a sweet craving.
Not the strongest maple flavour but was still apparent. However like I said before Im not looking for a candy bar. We found that the Simply Bars are a lot sturdier than the Simply Whey ones the whey ones crumble easily and if you are trying to eat them out of your purse it can be a bit of a mess but who does that. However there are only 3 bars out of 20 that cost less per bar than Simply Bars. Most protein bars are loaded with excess sugar and calories so having a lighter option that fills me up without sugar overload and too many calories is great.
